Here is the calendar for April 2011 for the Sun’aq Tribal Youth Program

The Sun’aq Tribal Youth Advocacy Program supports a variety of academic, social and cultural programs including:

  • High School Mentoring, one-on-one tutoring & grade tracking
  • After school Homework Club – Monday & Wednesdays at the Sun’aq Tribal Center
  • After school Cam’ai Club
  • Recycling awareness, exploring waste issues in Kodiak
  • Photography Field trip, exploring waste issues in Kodiak
  • Indian Alcohol & Substance Abuse meetings
  • JOM Youth Crafting Activities
  • Childcare during parenting & drug/alcohol workshops
  • Subsistence Food Preservation activities
  • KANA Elders Gathering support with food and music
  • RurAL CAP Youth Track event
  • Alutiiq Dancers “assist” Summer 2010
  • Domestic Violence Awareness Walk/Rally
  • Tangirnaq Native Village (Woody Island Tribal) Youth Garden partnership
  • Children’s Fair Gardening Activity – serving more than 70 kids.

    Our Tribal staff of 16 runs a 6,000-square foot office in the Sun’aq Tribal Center building in Kodiak, Alaska. Our administrative offices are on the second floor of the Sun’aq Tribal Center, located in the heart of downtown Kodiak.
